In previous years, the club had a string of Hon Secretaries to keep everyone in place. Names, such as ‘Old TL’, Mr. John Clare, Mr. Norman J.G. Bartley, Mr. John P Morgan, spring readily to mind. Then Secretary Managers striving to make the business of the club run smoothly. Mr. A. Paul Milne was appointed in 1995. With his team of indoor and outdoor staff they keep the club running smoothly for the benefit of the members and visitors.

The course evolves year on year. Faced with increasing competition and numerous new ‘pay & play’ courses in the area, West Derby has done well to maintain its strong membership, which includes various groups and internal societies, such as the Twenty Club, The Belmont Golfing Society, The Mixers Society, The Saturday Lads, amongst others.
