West Derby Golf Club was founded in 1896 by a group of residents in West Derby and surrounding areas of Liverpool. They were intent on forming the first inland golf ‘links’ in South-West Lancashire. A nine-hole golf course was established and in 1923 the process began to increase the course to 18 holes. A more detailed account of the last 112 years can be found in the History section.

Since celebrating its centenary in 1996, West Derby Golf Club has held an annual Festival Week of Golf in July. The week includes a comprehensive programme of mens, ladies and mixed events, which are open to visitors as well as members. In 2008 the Festival Week will run from Monday 21st July to Sunday 27th July. Full details and competition entry forms are available from the office or can be downloaded here.
